Saint Mary’s University alumnus and president and CEO of the Chicago Blackhawks John McDonough, class of 1975, recently celebrated his team’s victory in the 2013 Stanley Cup Championship — the second Blackhawks championship under his extraordinary leadership. A distinguished sports marketing executive and staunch supporter of Saint Mary’s, McDonough is a 2010 recipient of the Saint Mary’s University Presidential Award for Outstanding Merit.
This video salute to John McDonough aired during the rebroadcast of the Stanley Cup Series on Comcast SportsNet. This rebroadcast will be available to millions of households in the Chicagoland area as well as greater Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and southern Wisconsin. In congratulating McDonough, the university is making a very visible statement — in key admission recruiting territories — as to the caliber of Saint Mary’s alumni.
